A Letter from ABC’s President Gloria E. Gebbia

Dear Friends,

In these uncertain times, our priority is the ongoing health and safety of our members, supporters, and the greater local community. As an Organization, we have been monitoring the CDC recommendations to limit the Coronavirus (COVID-19) spread very closely.

It has become clear that the best way to support our community at this time is to cancel our Annual Mothers’ Day Luncheon on May 6th, 2020.

Every year we look forward to coming together as a group for this event to raise money for breast and prostate cancer research at the John Wayne Cancer Institute. And it is with a heavy heart we send this communication on behalf of our entire ABC’s family.

Now more than ever, the world needs true empathy, compassion, and collaboration. This is a moment to pause, help others, re-evaluate and to make changes. It’s never been more clear that we live in fragile times. We must all align in reversing the negative effects we humans have on our planet and each other. We ask wholeheartedly that you use this time for profound reflection, while holding optimism in high regard.

As a community we stand together, and it is our responsibility to take necessary precautions not only for our safety but also of elderly and immunocompromised members of our community and beyond.

Thank you for your continued generosity and support.

Sincerely,
Gloria E. Gebbia
ABC’s President
